How Can We Save at least 1 Hour A Day?

Last week I had some renovations done in my office and living room. As the workers were redoing the walls I had to temporarily move my desk to my bedroom, where I could continue to work quietly. Unfortunately, I don't have WiFi in my condo and moving my work space meant losing the internet during the day while the work was being done.

Yes I admit it, I am one of those checking emails all day long.

So I was pretty much in a panic. I would only be able to check my email about 3 times a day. But it turned out to be a great lesson. I remembered hearing about a book called "Never read your emails in the morning," but I never sat down to read it. My excuse for constantly checking my email is that half of my clients are based in Europe and are 6 hours ahead of us. I need to reply as soon as possible. But I agreed that it is just an excuse since not every email is an emergency.

For an entire week I had limited access to my email. I only used the internet early in the morning before the work started, during the lunch hour and in the evening after the crew left. And after a week the lesson became clear: I saved at least one hour every day. I know, it sounds amazing, and it is. I saved an entire hour of work per day by not responding to emails constantly. I gained one hour which allowed me to spend more time working on my marketing and
promotion.

I normally write an article a month and often said that I don’t have the time to write more. With all the time that I saved last week, I was able to write 4 articles in just one week! If I keep this rhythm it means 18 articles a month instead of 1 per month, ok let say 15 just in case. That is 14 more promotion/exposure opportunities per month to attract more people to my website. Which means more potentials clients AND more money.

Time management is crucial. Limit your email responses to 1 to 3 times per day. See if you can work in an extra hour marketing or taking one more client consultation instead of checking emails. The figures speak for themselves: let's say you charge $150/hour for your services and you get an extra hour per day. That equals an additional $750 a week, $3,000 a month or $36,000 a year. No bad right! When we put it into numbers it resonates even more.

I am working hard on the final touches of the new version. I remember from my first version that the end details take some times. They may be smaller details, but there are more of them and they are sometimes harder to define.

For the last month and a half I have been working with a new coach who specializes in internet marketing. I feel as if I am entering a whole new world as there are so many new strategies to learn. I feel as if I have worked harder to

11. I organize events and promote them on about 10 websites.This is another way to get free exposure, so even if people can’t come to the event, if they are interested in learning about it, they check the website, and sign up the newsletter, plus each attendee is a new lead.

12. I do public speaking. This is not my favorite, so I try not to speak four times a month, but in my marketing plan, I scheduled a public engagement every other month, so another organization will promote my book or program to their newsletters and subscribers.This is another way to get free exposure, and I meet new people during the event.

13. I offer free consultation. On my French Consulting Practice’s website, (http://www.myfrenchnetwork.com/), I offer a 30-minute free consultation for French people who want to start a business in the U.S.Again, people don’t buy from people they don’t know, so offering a free consultation breaks the fear. They can share their project with me. I inform them of all the steps. They see how I can help them, and doing so, I start building a relationship. As a result, 80% become clients after this consultation.

14. I have an Affiliate Program so other people can sell my program and my book.Because you are a solo entrepreneur or a solo professional, you don’t have to do everything on your own. So having an Affiliate Program is the easiest and fastest way to increase sales and greatly increase your profits. It is like having plenty of salespeople working for you, FOR FREE. The more affiliates you have, the more access you have to thousands of people, who will see your products or services on somebody else’s website or newsletter. You are not the only one to promote your products now, you have a sales force. Your affiliates promote your products or services for free and you don't pay them until they generate a sale for you. When they make a sale, you will be more than happy to pay them a commission, since you would probably never have had this client otherwise.

15. I do numbers of partnerships with companies or entrepreneurs who have the same target market but are not my competitors. Would you rather meet a thousand people, one at a time, or meet a few people who will each introduce you to a thousand? Most people see networking events as a place to get contacts one at a time or make one sale at a time. My goal when I attend a networking event is to meet potential partners, so we could cross-promote each other on our respective websites and newsletters, organize seminars or teleclasses together, do mailing campaigns together, etc. The benefit of it is that you have exposure to their contacts while they have exposure to your contacts. That is a win/win situation.

16. Last, but not least, I have a 7-step follow-up system that works. Statistics show that we need to hear or see a message at least 7 times in order to notice it. So if you are part of those people who follow up only two or three times, you are losing opportunities to turn prospects into clients. That is why it is important not only to have a follow-up system, but to have at least a 7-step follow-up system in place.To learn more about my own 7-step follow-up system, check out my program “Power of Networking Secrets”.
As you can see, using systems in your business is the best way to grow easily and effortlessly. And most of the strategies that I just shared with you don’t even cost you money. All of these strategies work very well if you are starting your business, or if you need to refocus your business to get the result you are expecting after few years. And when you are an established business, that is a way to keep growing.

So what is YOUR lead generation system?

Take some times to sit and think about it. Are you using 2 or 3 lead generation techniques, or do you have 10 to 15? Make a list, as I just did. Which of your lead generation techniques works the best for your business? What other techniques could you implement today? Schedule a new technique each month, set up a date to make sure you will respect your marketing calendar, track the result for each technique, see what works for your business, and watch your sales grow.

A Lead Generation System That Works – Part 2

Here are 10 of 17 of my Lead Generation System That Works.

1. Over the past six years, I have exchanged links with other entrepreneurs or websites that have the same target market, but are not my competitors. So when people visit their websites, they see my link and come to check my website.

2. I have a mailing list box on each page of all of my websites. I have five different websites, two of them with more than 200 pages. And since I never know when a visitor will decide to sign-up for the newsletter, I make sure that I don’t miss any opportunity, which is the reason why I have a mailing box on each page.

3. I offer a free report or a free mini e-course.Having a mailing list box on my website is one thing, but to make sure people will actually sign up, I have to offer them something that will interest them, something that will inform them and help them to solve one of their problems.

I offer a free mini e-course, “15 Ways to Maximize Your Networking Results”. This is free info for them, but at the same time it is a way for me to show them what I do, how I can help them, and how to get more clients with networking. People usually don’t buy from people they don’t know or trust, so showing a part of your product or service will help them to get to know and trust you.

4. I send a weekly newsletter "The Connection Queen News". People sign up first to get the free report. After that, it is my job to tell them more about my business, and share resources, marketing and networking information in order to build a relationship with them. Statistics show that when people don’t buy immediately, they will buy in the next 12 months. So I need to make sure that I am always in the top of their mind, so when they are ready to buy, they will buy from me.

5. I use auto-responders to automate my website. I use auto-responders when people sign-up for the newsletter or for an event. I set up a series of information messages about my products or services and the benefit of using them. I use them to send audio postcards, to offer special reports for free, and/or to thank my clients for their purchases. Any message will remind them about my services and, more importantly, remind them to come back and buy again. This series of follow-up messages reinforces my relationship with my clients.

6. I use the software “Act” to automate my follow-up system, with people who either attended seminars or teleclasses or bought my book, or program. The first time, I set up the different follow-up messages I want to send to people, then each time I have a new client, I just enter his or her name, and the software will remind me what to do and when to do it. I don’t even have to think about it. As I mentioned earlier, I do the work once and put everything on automatic pilot.

7. I send “Thank You” notes to my clients after they bought my book, program or CD, and after a month, I send them a special offer on their next purchase. I keep the relationship going. In this age of technology, sending a handwritten “Thank You” note makes you stand out from the crowd. You want to impress your clients or contacts and want them to remember you.

8. I ask my clients for testimonials.Testimonials from satisfied customers are typically the best way to promote your business, and it doesn’t cost you a thing. Stop selling and let your clients do it for you.

9. I write one article a month and post it on about 50 to 60 directories of articles.Writing articles is actually one of the best ways that I found to get free exposure. Each article is a way to share my expertise with people, and again, to give a sample of what I do and how I can help them.

10. I publish a press release on various websites, each time I have a new product. As with the articles, it is a way to get free exposure and inform people, and the press, of what is new in my business. A Lead Generation System That Works - Part 1

I recently had a drink with somebody that I had met few years ago, when I started Biba4Network, but whom I didn’t get the opportunity to see for years. He was one of the first subscribers in my newsletter, so even if we hadn’t seen each other for a while, he was reading the newsletter every week and kept informed of what was happening in my business.

One of his comments was "Wow, I can’t believe how much you have grown your business! I remember when you started, just moving from France, and you didn’t know anybody here. How did you get to this point? You definitely can’t do all of this on your own, so how many people work for you now? What is your secret?"

I answered that I found my result a normal growth. You know, you work hard, you learn from others, you implement the techniques and strategies that you have learned, and if you do it correctly, the normal result is to grow. Simple isn’t it?
　
But when I got back home, I thought about it. What did I do for the past few years to grow my business, to the point that I actually made the same revenue in the last three months as I had made all last year? I must have done something!

I think that some of the reasons that I was able to grow my business are:

#1- I spend lot of time learning from others, reading books or attending seminars. But reading a book or attending a seminar is not enough. Most people close a book or leave a seminar very motivated - "Wow, great techniques!" - but the next day they return to their routine and never
implement those techniques in their business. I personally implement at least one of the techniques each time.

#2 – I learned how to delegate, and have all of my administrative tasks done by my virtual assistant, while I have more time to work on my marketing plan and work with clients.

#3 – I established systems, so I don’t have to do the same thing over and over. I do it once and put all of my business on automatic pilot. This, by the way, gives me more free time, to either work on a new project or just take a vacation.

#4 – I make technology work for me. I still remember the time when I was sending my newsletter manually, 30 emails at a time, directly from Outlook, taking an hour to do it every Monday morning. Now, thanks to my Shopping Cart, in just one click, I send the newsletter to my 3000 subscribers. Or when I answered manually each time somebody signed up for an
event, then sent a reminder the day before the event. Now the auto-responders are doing it for me.

#5 – I have a lead generation system that works. When I work with clients who are complaining that their business is not giving the results they are expecting, even after a couple of years, or that their business doesn’t get enough leads, I ask them what lead generation techniques they are using. Most answer that they usually send e-mails, sometime have a newsletter, go to networking (but don’t follow-up effectively) and stop there. Well, they use 3 or 4 lead
generation techniques, but if you are using 10 or 15 lead generation techniques, as I do, you definitely get more chances to turn your leads into clients.

Unspoken, But Crucial To Your Online Success

In the beginning there was the marketer. There are certain truths you come to understand the more time you spend making money online – or trying to.
Witness the evolution of marketing online. Whether you are new to the net game or an experienced pro, there is one thing you will have in common if you are moving towards entrepreneurial success.

As you read this article you will realize what you have in common with all the other million dollar earners online, and what you’re missing that can take you from where you are to where you want to be.

So let’s get started shall we?
I will begin with a bullet point list and short explanation of the marketing necessities you want to have:

For starters, most established markets will already be using this by default:
- A Domain: something specific to what you want to promote like (ex.www.mysite.com)

- Hosting: a place to put your site, if you’re planning on making money – find a paid solution so you look like a credible business and you cut back on high traffic crashes.

- A website: your image your presence and your marketing message, don’t get pulled into the trap I see everywhere of trying to put too many choices on your website. Maximize on the effectiveness by only giving one purpose to a page.

For example if you want to build a list - focus all your efforts and copy on that singular focus, if you want your site to sell a product, then only put that focus on your site. You’ll also need a good editing program, and an ftp software to get this up and moving.

- A merchant account: If you have something to sell, people will need a way to pay you. There are a ton of great providers out there, but there are a specific few that give your visitors the security to pull out a credit card with assurance.

- An Autoresponder: This is a real necessity if you want a business and not just a hobby. When you have a family to support this is a real no brainer. This is your email follow up service. You get a name added to your list and this is where they go. You will use this to stay in touch and build relationships with your customers and soon-to-be customers. (I use and recommend 1shoppingcart)

- A helpdesk: in the beginning when your business and sales are small you can handle all the little questions and emails yourself. One of the things that will keep a small business is small is thinking “I can do that myself” if you want to truly grow; you need to share the workload (petty tasks) and focus on what you truly want to do creatively for your business.

- Membership Site software: once you’re addicted to the internet marketing lifestyle, you will realize this oh-so-simple fact, it’s great to make a sale, but it’s even better to make a sale once and get paid for it every month. Continuity is king.

- Teleconferencing software: If you want an easy way to create and crank out high ticket products, audios and a transcript is an easy to make, high-value product. (I use and recommend audioacrobat).

Of course everything we’ve touched on so far only scratches the surface, but these are the necessities that not only get you started but will make you above average. Keep your eyes peeled for more articles that will take you from beginner to winner.

How Do You Define Abundance?

Abundance is a concept often debated in spiritual and entrepreneurial circles.
Entrepreneurs commonly use the catch-phrase "thinking BIG," but they really mean the same thing.

Abundance is tough to define because it's one of those unique ideas that must be experienced to really be understood ... it can't just be explained.

Yet the most encouraging part of adopting an abundance mindset is how it can connect you to people with totally different set of beliefs and values.

It instantly sustains inclusivity even with people who are dramatically different.

POP QUIZ: What do Mother Theresa and Donald Trump have most in common?
The answer is their abundance mind-set.

Donald Trump says, "If you're going to think anyway, you might as well think big."

Mother Theresa said: "The more we discover the magnitude and abundance of God's gifts, the more we will find ourselves."

Again, the abundance mindset creates connections.

Bucky Fuller had this to say about the abundance mindset:
"The condition of planet earth is abundance. Our belief in either scarcity or abundance determines how our financial, legal, political and military systems are set up or exist at all.

Scarcity and abundance are foundational and contextual ideas. They each give rise to a distinct system of thought and a number of rules, characteristics and measures which only make sense within their own system."

Above all, the abundance-mindset is a choice. In other words, you choose to look through the lens of scarcity, or through the lens of abundance. There is no in-between.

Because there are are so many differing opinions about abundance, my colleagues and I have decided to conductthis worldwide survey get more opinions - your opinion - on this highly debated topic.

What is your branding strategy?

As I mentioned in May, I redesign my logo. After almost two years in Miami, the New York City skyline didn't adequately represent my business anymore. As my business has become more international, it was time for Biba4Network’s new look.

After the new logo, I also needed a new business card. I tested the design by showing it to my mastermind group here in Miami for feedback. They all loved it, and I implemented the one change they suggested. Now the cards are ready to go to print. After changing my logo and card, it was crucial to redesign my website banners to reflect the new look. I finally have finished the project. Last week we updated every page, including about 200 pages on my website Biba4network and 50 pages on TheConnectionQueen. Both websites now share the same look, which streamlined my branding.

Biba4Network is the name of the company, but TheConnectionQueen has been my 'stage name' for the past 3 years and it's much easier for people to remember. Each time I attend an event and give my business card, I always receive the same comments: "The Connection Queen, I love that", "The Connection Queen? What a great name!" or "The Connection Queen, I definitely need your services." It opens conversations with people, and helps me be recognized as a networking expert. Because of this tag line, I am regularly ask to be a guest speaker or contacted for an interview.

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July with your friends and family. For the first time I celebrated the Fourth of July, since it is not a holiday in France and since living in the US I haven't had the day off. Since I work with both continents, if I take every day off in France and every day off in the US – I won’t be working very often! But this year it was a Saturday, so I joined some friends we went to see a parade, then the beach and finish with the fireworks. A traditional n 4th of July I guess.

Recently, social media / social networking have become very important in the business world. It completely changed the way we do business. It is a great opportunity to expand any business world wide, but some people are still confused on how to use online networking. Before, clients were asking me how to network effectively, now more clients ask me how to use social networking effectively. I had an amazing 3 day seminar with my French clients. Thanks to my expanded network, I was able to introduce them to people they might have never met if they were simplycoming as tourists. More importantly, they first learned about business and financial opportunities that they didn't imagine might be available before. They left the seminar with new ideas that will help them to grow their business and make a lot more money- even during the recession.

We are already in July, which means we are half way of 2009. Did you achieve any of the goals you made in the beginning of the year or did you already forget them? This is your second chance! Don't miss it.

Set up your goals and refocus on your goals for the next 6 months and be sure to be on track by December. Don't try to do too much at once. It is better to have 2 to 3 important goals that you will be able to achieve than to have 10 that you might give up within few weeks or months. I actually did a collage a couple of weeks ago, to set my goals for the next 6 months. I put it next to my desk as a reminder.

Don't try to eat an elephant in one time. Set up baby goals every month and try hard to make sure you reach them. Try to get to the big picture by of the end of the year. If you try to do too much at once, you will get discouraged. It doesn't work the way you want if you try to rush it and consequently nothing solid will happen.

A new way to network effectively saving time and money

Recently one of my readers contacted me to see if I had heard about BlitzTime a new way to network by phone. So I checked it, I LOVE it and I would like to let you know about this concept, because, in addition to what you do now it is a new way to network.

Since I moved to Miami almost two years ago, I personally changed the way I network. I now attend very few live events. I only belong to two groups and don’t try to run out to every event in the city. I realized that I actually had a better results networking directly by internet, either with social media or by publishing articles online. In My French Consulting Business, My French Network, I have also had the same experience. Currently I have about 4 to 5 new people contacting me a week, from France, Belgium, Switzerland and Africa. I definitely never had networks in all of the listed countries but now I have a big presence online. Same in my networking business, I don’t get my clients from live events but via internet from all over the US.

The concept of BlitzTime:

You select the events related to your business, sign up, you get on the call with other people, and then you will have 5 minutes one on one with 10 to 12 people per hour. You never know who you will talk to, but as soon as the session startyou see their profile with picture and links to their website on your screen .

The reason why I really love it, is first you don’t need to leave the house or office, so you don’t waste time in transportation, second it is the same concept of speed networking but you are in the comfort of your place, and don’t have the noise of 20 people speaking at the same time in the room. When you meet somebody at alive event you speak for 5 minutes, you don’t focus entirely because you also notice what is happening in the room. You also spend time looking for the next person to talk to, but with BlitzTime during those 5 minutes you only focus on the other person and can surf their website at the same time, so you learn more about them in 5 minutes than in a live event, and vice versa. And last but not least what is more important - instead of meeting people only from your city, suddenly the world becomes your networking playground.

I already attended 5 events in 2 weeks, and met people from so many cities. It is helpful because you gain more exposure than networking in local events only.

I joined 3 groups, and had the chance to speak with various people from different cities numerous times. We had a chance to talk more and learn about each other.

Of course, however, after the event, it is the same as any kind of networking. You have to wonder how to follow-up with your new contacts. If you don’t keep in touch with those people - it will be a waste of time.

Once the event is finished you will receive an email from BlitzTime with the name of every person you talk to and have a link to their profile and can send them an email.I used to send the list of the attendees for my events when I was in New York, but very few groups give you this information. This is very convenient because the list is available only few minutes after the event.

Here are some suggestions to make following-up easier:

1/ Send your email within an hour after you have finished, so you sure you won’t forget to keep the contact. – It is IMPORTANT that you don’t try to sell anything, but that you reintroduce yourself. Since you had only few minutes tospeak. Mention your website and newsletter or free offer (CD, report etc…) if you have one. Make sure to finish your email with a Call to Action – What do you want them to do next?

2/ Check if your new contacts are on Facebook, Linkedin, Plaxo, Twitter etc… and become “Their Friend” or “Follow Them” to grow your list.

3/ A week later, send them another email, to try to schedule a phone conversation, without BlitzTime so you will have more than 5 minutes to speak.

4/ A couple of weeks later later invite your new contacts to one of your events, seminars, or teleclass if you have one. Or record a 30 to 60 minutes presentation of your business and send them the CD.

5/ Send them a post card or a greeting card (I use and highly recommend SendOut Cards).

Here are only few ideas to keep in touch with your new contacts. The key in marketing, as in networking, is repetition, so it is important to have a follow-up system in place to send your message to your contacts and always know what is the next step, so you won't lose track of your follow-up.

Remember to always finish your message with a “Call to Action”. Your goal is to bring people to your website and to sign-up for your newsletter, so then you will be sure to keep in touch with them on a weekly or monthly basis. They will learn more about you, get a chance to know you, sample your work and trust you. This way when they are ready to buy they will call you or refer you to other people.

Last evening I attended a monthly networking event, “The Millionaires Real Estate Investment Club”, great place to network with the affluent.

It was very interesting to listen to people talking in this environment, everybody mentioned all the deals that they are doing and how much money they make, now more than ever.
Recession, which recession ?

I didn’t hear anybody complain about the recession once or evenmention it. A big change from what we hear on the news or on TV. About 90% of economists predict the recession might end this year, great, but what can you do until the end of the year and change your situation next month. Why wait?

It is very important to surround yourself with people who take action rather than with those who complain all the time about the situation but are not even trying to improve their life.

Be positive, there are still lot of business opportunities around you, just find the right people, find the right event or group to join, find people ready to buy your product or services. There are still lot of money around you, just find the right people ready to spend it.

Yesterday I had new headshots done, I LOVE the result. Very different from what I had ever done before. I can hardly wait to show them to you (hopefully by next week).

This week has turned out to be an excellent one for me. I was approached by 2 new European clients. They are both entrepreneurs and need help in investing respectively $1 & $15 Millions. I will be managing their businesses in the US.

It is a great challenge! Lately I have noticed that I am meeting more and more millionnaires. You know what they say – "You are like the people who surround you" – so I guess it is a very good sign that my business is growing in the right direction. In the last few months I had a few clients who told me that they were not able to get new leads and clients. Their financial situation had become difficult. It turns out that most of this people had only one product or service they relied on for their entire income. In 2005, I attended a seminar in New York and met Raymon Aaron who has been a mentor for more than 25 years. He's achieved quite a bit of fame. His clients include Robert Kiyosaki, Marc Victor Hansen, T. Harv Eker, many, many more and Me, for the last 4 years. The reason why I choose him was because I liked his business model, plus his credentials were great: a famous coach, successful real estate investor in Canada and the USA and THE Real Estate Guru in Canada for more than 20 years.

Last month I joined the Dan Kennedy’ Inner Circle Miami Chapter. As a new member we get to chose one of his books. I choose the “Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs.” Dan Kennedy, aka "The Millionaire Maker" is probably the most famous marketing coach in the US for the last 3 decades. Big Day! - I am celebrating Biba4Network’s 6 years anniversary next week!

When I look back, I am very proud of everything I've accomplished. Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who supported, and give special thanks to those who have been by my side since day one. Some of you have been on the mailing list since the very beginning. I still remember my very first even in New York; I was so afraid that nobody will show up.

I don’t know about you, but for some reason, the month of May is very inspirational for me, and here are some of the ways my life has been changed in May.

In May 1997, I was a sales manager in a French company, making great money, but was not fulfilled since my dream was to live in New York since a little girl. So I decided to come to New York for two weeks of vacation, in order to look for a job. I still remember my boss’s reaction “You can’t leave for two weeks, the team needs you”. I reminded him that in May, there are so many days off that half of the French population doesn’t work anyway, so I wouldn’t miss any business and definitely nobody would miss me. After a thirty minute conversation, I got my two weeks of vacation. That day I decided that I would NEVER let anybody tell me what I can or can’t do, EVER.

So I came to New York, with tons of copies of my resume, got some job offers, but realized that getting a visa (Work permit) would take lot of time. So I went back home, and decided that I would start my own business in France, so I could travel the way I wanted without anybody telling mewhat I could or couldn’t do, so I could come back in New York as often I wanted.

In May 1998, I launched my first business in Paris, F.P Communication, a telemarketing company. I ran the business successfully for two years, until it was established. Then worked on my dream.

In May 2000, I came back to New York to do a test, and see if I could run my French business from New York, and so realize my dream to live in New York. Everything worked very well, actually none of my clients even realized that I left for two weeks. For a couple of few years, I went back and forth between Paris and New York, working via phone and Internet for my French business and just having fun in New York. At that time I didn’t even think of starting a business here. But after a while it became more and more difficult to keepcrossing the ocean. So I investigated how I could start a business so I could get a visa and work here. Long story short, I discovered the world of networking, liked the concept, and decided to start a business around it.

In May 2003, I launched Biba4Network. When you know that onaverage, 50% of new businesses don’t survive their first year, starting a business in a foreign country when you barely speak the language and have to deal with a complete different culture, to be able to survive and make it a successful business – yes! I am proud of the result. Since then, I have built a wonderful network and worked with hundreds of people and entrepreneurs from various environments and actually built an international network. After a while, I was approached by a number of other Frenchpeople who asked me how I was able to start a business in the US. For a while I gave all the information for free, until I realized that it was taking lot of my time and I was on a great niche.

In May 2005, thanks to my network, I built a team with various experts and partners like lawyers, CPA, bankers and other consultants, and launched My French Network in order to help other French entrepreneurs to realize their dream as I did.

Today I am running two very successful international businesses and all of this thanks to networking! So who said that “networking is not working?” Trust me, networking is working when you work it well!

This week article is about testimonials, it is really a marketing strategy that most of solo-entrepreneurs neglect and I noticed that lots of my clients don’t use them. Having a raving fan talking about your business will sale your products or services ten time more than what ever you can say about yourself. So let your clients do the job for you.

On my French consulting business, My French Network, I never advertise or promote the business. I work on a such specific niche and I am one of the only 2 or 3 in the US offering those services, that I don’t need to advertise. Key word work very well to the point that if you search in French “start a business in the US” my French website always arrives on the top of google. I never had to pay for pay per clip or optimization to get this result. The topic alone bring me clients. I give a lot of information on the website, I offer a 30 minute free consultation and the reasons why I have at least 4 to 5 new people contacting me each week is because:
One - I tell my story and they can relate to it since I’ve been on their shoes before – French looking to start a business in the US when I didn’t even know the language.
Second - and most important because of all the testimonials that I have which show them how I helped hundreds of French entrepreneurs to start their business and realize their American dream, saving them time, money and avoiding them big mistakes. When a prospect is deciding to hire you, register for your program, or buy your product online, you aren't there in person to help convince them you're "for real." That means you have to go the extra mile by building credibility, so your web visitor immediately can trust you!

One of the easiest and most effective ways to do this - and increase your sales by leaps and bounds - is to feature TESTIMONIALS from your clients and customers. Testimonials may seem like a given, but many people completely forget to use them in their marketing. You can never have too many testimonials. In fact, if you enjoy watching TV infomercials like I do, you've probably noticed a typical 30 minute spot is over 80% testimonials! And that's for good reason... they are the hands-down BEST way to gain instant credibility. So rack 'em up, and put them everywhere!

Here are 3 ways to make sure your testimonials sell FOR you...

1. Ask for RESULTS-ORIENTED Testimonials
The most effective testimonials are results oriented. That is, they share actual results your clients or customers have gotten. Also include numbers, dollar amounts, and/or percentages to get your prospect's attention and dramatically increase your response. Lame testimonial: "Alexandria Brown's Online Success Blueprint course is a great guide to online marketing."Awesome testimonial (and a real one, too!): "Thanks to the powerful, simple strategies I Learned from Alexandria Brown's Online Success Blueprint, I made 60,000 dollars in 2 DAYS. I will easily QUADRUPLE my revenues this year. Thank you!"

2. Include Full Information on the Client or Customer
Have you ever seen shifty ads in the back of magazines with testimonials like this? "This super product melted away 300 tons off my body overnight!" - E.B. in Wichita, Kansas. Yah, right! I'm sure "E.B." is a real person and that's a real testimonial. Hmmm... The more information you provide about your clients and customers, the more believable your testimonials are. Include full name, occupation or company name, city and state they're from, web address (if applicable), and a PHOTO. (Even a poor photo, if that's all they have. It's important to make them REAL to your reader.) You can see samples of how I did this here.

3. Use Audio (or Video) Testimonials for Even Better Results
Audio and video also add a TON of credibility to your testimonials, because your prospects actually hear and/or see the client or customer delivering the testimonial!Audio is a snap to set up on your web pages using a great tool called Audio Acrobat. Have your customers/clients call their hotline and leave a voicemail testimonial. Then you just copy and paste the code onto your website! Bug, Then Beg. And if All Else Fails... Bribe!

If you have trouble getting testimonials from your clients or customers whom you KNOW have had great experiences working with you or using your products, don't get mad at them. You just have to bug them. It's rare you'll receive a testimonial unsolicited.First, contact clients/customers whom you know have gotten great results thanks to you. Ask them if they can write up a short testimonial outlining their experience. They'll probably say "yes" but will forget to follow up or take a long time. I then usually offer to write something up for them based on what they've shared with me, which I'll email to them for approval. Every time I've offered this, they are relieved and say "great!" And 99% of the time they are delighted with what I sent them.

As a last resort, and if you're dealing with clients/customers whom you may not know as well, I suggest offering an "ethical" bribe to encourage them. For example, have a contest and the people whose testimonials are chosen for your web page get a free product or prize. Gets them off their butts and works every time! :)

5 Ways to Keep Learning and Growing - Even on a Tight Budget

I recently received a long letter from one of my readers -whom I'll call "Amy" -- that went something like this, "Ali, I see you're now charging beaucoup bucks for your coachingprograms and to mentor with you. No question you are worth thousands of dollars to work with! But I feel really stuck.You see, I am down to my last dime. You emphasize howimportant it is to keep learning and growing... and to havea mentor, but how can someone like me do this when there'sno money to invest?"

Ah yes, Amy, believe me, I remember what that was like. Infact, things got so bad when I first started my businessback in New York 10 years ago that there was one evening Icouldn't even take out $20 from the ATM. (And even if I didhave cash to spend, I didn't know where to find a mentoranyway.)

So what's a girl to do when she's on a budget?

Answer: Learn all she can within her means.

While in-depth courses and high-level mentorship programsdeliver a complete plan for those who are ready to investand move forward quickly, don't forget about tried and truelow-budget learning options. The five I list below aresurely nothing new, but often times we forget they are herefor the taking! The only trick is you have to motivateyourself.

1. Books.

Yes, books. Remember books? There are millions of helpfuland educational books out there. Both new ones in bookstoresand used ones at the library. Ones to inspire you, tomotivate you, to help you think differently, and deliveringspecific steps to grow yourself and your business. Spend arainy afternoon in a Borders or Barnes & Noble with a coffeeand see what strikes your fancy. Or finally get that local library card and see what they have to offer in theirbusiness and self help sections. Bonus: Most libraries alsocarry CDs and DVDs that they rent for free or a low fee, andusually you'll be able to find several educational titles.

2. Free ezines and reports. (Receive our Free newsletter and Free Mini E-course "15 Ways to Maximize Your Networking Results)

Search your topic of business online and you're bound tofind tons of free online information and many in the form ofezine subscriptions and reports. From marketing tomoneymaking, from advertising to finding clients, if yousearch for it you will find it. Just know these media - being free - are typically moreintroductory information and used as lead generators. Butgood content can surely be found!

3. Free teleseminars and webinars. (Check our Monthly Teleclass)

Along the same lines, many experts are also hosting freeteleseminars and webinars day and night around the globe.All you need to participate is a phone or an Internetconnection. From business training to personal development -search and you will find as well! As with free ezines andreports, you can learn a lot from these events, but justexpect a sales offer during the session.
4. Free and low-cost live seminars.

Even adult education classes via organizations such as theLearning Annex are great to get started. Even though theyusually feature very basic info, I've found these classesare still good to help reboot your brain and give you somenew ideas to walk away with. If you live in a major city you can also almost always findfree or low-cost seminars to attend as well, if you keepyour eyes and ears open. But remember, the hosts of theseevents aren't non-profits! Expect a sales invitation to buytheir products or enroll in a program. Just realize thisupfront as you go in and graciously decline should youchoose not to take advantage.

5. Lower-priced information products and programs.

If you can't afford a live mentor, how about one in a box?That's how I started! And I admit it was even from a TV infomercial. Back when I had finally quit my last job 10 years ago, I waslost and frustrated. I had started my business but was downto just a few hundred dollars in my bank account. One latenight I was up and turned on the TV and saw an infomercialfor Tony Robbins' "Personal Power II". (Funny enough, I could barely see it on the screen since I couldn't affordcable TV and was watching it via old-fashioned rabbitears.)

If I remember correctly, the product was $179 at the time. That was a huge stretch for me, and I opted for the paymentplan. And when those cassettes arrived (yes, I got thecassettes because they were cheaper than the CDs), I doveinto them like a box of chocolates! Tony became my virtualmentor as his voice of encouragement, showing me how tothink big, was played in my ears every day while I rode thesubway.

If you're not growing, you're dying.

Remember that not having cash to invest in your business isno excuse to sit on your bum. There's a great saying, "Godhelps those who help themselves." Having money isn't aprerequisite to step forward to grow and become your best.The only requirement to your stepping into your greatness isyour true desire to do so.

This article is not about the length or how many words I use to relay my knowledge to you. It is about the ideas that are transferred that you can believe in, acquire, put to use and benefit from.

It's about the transfer of ideas and concepts. That's where the value is.
The value is not in my time. It's not in me meeting with you one-on-one. It's not in me consulting or coaching a company. It's not in me talking to somebody on the phone.
Those are all techniques. They are all delivery methods.

Many people erroneously think they have to spend this time one-on-one and sell time for money. That's what traps them in a business that doesn't allow them to grow faster or remove themselves from the equation of exchanging time for money.

Millionaires in the information marketing business know that things can be systemized and packaged. An idea can be delivered via an automated audio message, an automated email, or a product that is recorded and packaged that someone can buy independent of your ability to be there and deliver the same message over and over again.

They believe in huge financial breakthroughs and windfalls happening very fast.
One of the biggest barriers you may have to overcome in building this business is your personal belief or comfort level in how much money it is possible to make in the next week, month, six months or year.

They choose to ignore barriers. They choose to ignore common beliefs and misconceptions. They choose to turn a deaf ear to nay-sayers, procrastinators, and people who say things can't be done.

How the New Administration Will Affect Your Taxes

The election of President Obama held special significance to this country and many people around the world. The day the new administration took office represented a change in current politics and an overhaul of policy. It also represents a change in the financial world. The stimulus bill put in place by the Bush administration is being fully dispersed and the Obama stimulus package has been passed. Financial rules and regulations are subject to change.

What does that mean for you this year at tax time?
Will any of the stimuli, previous or future be available through your filings? Will the Obama administration issue extra rebate incentives to small business owners, families or individuals?

Taxes need to be filed by April 15, 2009 for most of us. Are you itching to get your return? Should you wait to see if the Obama administration tries to stimulate the economy with an extra rebate?

You should file now. Changes to tax policy take time to administer. When you prepare your return you don’t do anything to get a part of the stimulus; the government automatically determines what you get from the package based on your current and prior tax returns. Any added incentives placed will be applied to your filings automatically. There’s no point in delaying your taxes. The sooner you file the sooner you collect your refund.

The new administration has implemented significant changes directly affecting small businesses. Carry-back losses have been extended. Up until recently, you could only carry back for the last two years. With the new bill in place you can carry back through 2003. Putting it another way, this means that if you have a current NOL (net operating loss) you can claim money you paid out in taxes from those years against your 2008 taxes.

Businesses that hire certain individuals such as unemployed veterans, young people and people who have been out of work for a certain amount of time can claim up to $2,400 for each worker. For clarification of the rules and a full list of stimulus related tax breaks, it’s best to seek out a knowledgeable tax accountant.

Wow, what a week! Monday I am back to school. They run everyday of the week from 9.00am to 6.00pm, straight through Sunday evening. For more than a year, I have become more and more involved in Real Estate investment and I've also had so many demands for vacation rentals in Miami from my French clients that it became obvious that I should learn more about the topic.

When I started my first business in Paris in 1998, I wanted to be a virtual assistant. I started promoting my business as a VA, but most of the demands were for telemarketing. From my sales background, I realized that it is not always what you are selling that brings in the client, but rather what the clients want and need.

It was the same when I started Biba4Network in 2003. My first thought was to work only with American small business owners. At the beginning I even refused for a while to work with French people, because it was not the business I wanted. However, a year later, I realized that the demands was so important that I couldn’t continue to turn clients away. Today my French consulting firm, My French Network, represents 80% of my business.

So, It is very important to listen to your clients and see what they need, and what they ask for, and work to resolve your clients' problems. Very often what our clients need is different from what we think at first.

That's how I landed back in school today. I learned that instead of trying to offer new services that I think are good ideas, I listen to my clients and create services or products to cater to their needs.

Make sure you listen to your clients and really know what they need. Maybe you're struggling offering, the wrong products or services, when the money is right there waiting for you, with the right services.

"7 Steps to Launching a New Product, Program, or Service...for TONS of Sales

When I teach one of my Online Success Blueprint Workshops, the section that gets my attendees most excited is when I walk them through an actual product launch.

What's a launch?

It's when you release a new product, program, or service for the first time to your mailing list. A launch is a super opportunity to rack up a TON of sales in a short amount of time.

I basically have seven steps to a launch. In my workshops, I walk through them in great detail and include actual examples and results. But to get you started, here's a brief description of each step and how it works. You can do a launch for any service, product, or program, but for the sake of this article, let's assume we're talking about a product.

1. Drop hints in your ezine beforehand.
Before your product is even ready, start getting your readers curious and excited! Drop hints that something big is on the way and what the benefits are. For example, "I'm working on a brand new product that could help you easily double your sales this year. I can't say anything about it just yet, but you'll know the full story on October 1."

2. Create your sales letter and thank-you pages.
Again, you can do these steps even before your product is ready. In fact, many experts recommend you write your sales letter BEFORE you even create the product. After your sales page, you will need a page to send people to once they purchase -- the "thank you" page -- where they can also download your product if it is digital.

3. Set up the product in your shopping cart.
Log-in to your shopping cart program and set up your new product name, price, and the thank-you page URL. Don't forget to add on shipping or sales tax if applicable. I hope you use a shopping cart with all these capabilities! (I use, love, and recommend 1shoppingcart). Then stick the product link on your sales page.

4. Send out a solo mailing to your customer list.
When everything is ready, it's time to start your promotions! The first people I alert about any new product are those who have already bought from me. It's my most responsive list, and this will be your most responsive list, too. Keep this email short and sweet. Your only objective is to drive them to your sales page, where they can get the full story. To make your customers feel special, give them a special discount or bonus that's just for them. And give them a deadline to respond by.

5. Send out a solo mailing to your ezine list.
I do this a few days after I promote to my customer list. Same idea, different list. Got it? Good. : )

6. Let your affiliates know how to promote this new product.
After I launch my product to my own lists, I let my affiliates know that I have a new product they can promote! Send them an email with the details, their individual affiliate link that gives them credit on any referred sales, and even ad copy they can paste into their ezines or websites. Don't forget to mention how much commission they get per sale. (I do this all through 1shoppingcart).

7. Promote in your ezine on an ongoing basis.
Once your launch is over, don't let your product wither away and die! Keep the momentum going. Make sure you highlight it on a regular basis in your ezine via ads or articles, and that it's also easy for visitors to find on your website.

BONUS TIP: Give them a reason to buy today!

People are so busy these days that they will put off ANY decision possible. So, you will ALWAYS get more sales when you give people a reason to buy NOW and not later. For example: Put a time limit on your offer or have a limited quantity available.

"What you focus on is what you get!" is a sentence I heard recently from Adam Urbanski , one of my mentors. You've probably hear the phrase before, but sometimes it is difficult to implement this rule of thumb.

Turn on the a TV or radio lately and most of what you hearis negative: millions of job losses, millions of housing foreclosures, recession, failing businesses, murders... the list goes on.

How can you stay positive on these circumstances and still boost your business?

First, limit watching TV or listening to the radio programsthat are negatively geared. Second, adopt a positiveattitude all time. Third, focus on your business: find newways to make money, offer new programs or services, knowyour niche. Stick to your strategy, study your clients' needs and find ways to solve their challenges. That is what I do and it works. I refuse to let the recession effect my business.

How to Do a Simple SPLIT TEST and Improve Your Marketing, Guaranteed

One great thing about marketing on the Internet is it's all very trackable, if you do it right. That means you can easily and quickly figure out what works BEST for your business.

How would you like to know which headlines better get people's attention? Or what price point is more appealing to your target market?

The good news is it's very EASY to find out, with something called a SPLIT TEST.

In the past, setting up a split test practically required an advanced programming degree. But now, all you need to do a split test is a website, something to sell, and a good shopping cart system that will do the test for you. (I use, swear by, and recommend 1Shoppingcart)

Here's what to do:

1. Create the web sales page for your product. Make sure it's FINAL and everything is in place.

2. Create a duplicate sales page, but give it a different URL. For example, your first sales page could be mywebsite.com/salespageA.htm and your second sales page could be mywebsite.com/salespageB.htm. This is more for YOU to easily keep track and tell the difference between the two pages.

3. Change ONE variable on sales page B. The important thing here is to only change ONE thing. A few things you can test:
* a different headline
* a different price
* a different photo
* a different bonus

4. Set up your split test. The fastest and easiest way to do this is using the "Ad Tracker" feature in 1ShoppingCart. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up!

All you need to do is enter both URLs. The system will then give you a tracking link. You'll use THIS link in your emails you send to your list. When your readers click on the link, the system will automatically alternate each visitor, sending visitor 1 to page A, visitor 2 to page B, visitor 3 to page A, visitor 4 to page B, and so on. And if a person returns to the link, she will be directed to the same page she saw. (Neat, yes?)

5. Interpret your results. When you log into 1ShoppingCart to view your test results, it will not only tell you how many sales came from each page, but the percentage difference in sales.

The information you can learn from a simple split test can be INVALUABLE to growing your business!

For example, I instructed one of my clients to test her new program at two price points: $87 and $97. She made 20 sales at $87 but NONE at $97. That means that $87 is a price ceiling for that group on this particular topic. (If she had made equal sales at both price points, I would have instructed her to make it $97 from now on, and to keep raising the price via testing until it hits a ceiling.)

Another example: One test I did during a product launch revealed that a simple change in the *design* of the sales page resulted in 25% more sales! So you can be sure I used that design going forward.

You don't have to use split testing only for sales. Wouldn't it be great to know which pages on your website get more opt-ins? 1ShoppingCart can also tell you how many people opt-in for your ezine while they're there.

After working hard and having my best year ever, I am ready to take 2 weeks of vacation until January 1st. While off the job, I plan to renovate and change the interior decoration of my home. I bought it a year ago, and never had the time to do anything. I bought wonderful furniture and canvas. The style will be contemporary zen, something I've always wanted. I will feel like I am in a new place. I can't wait to see the result.

I will start 2009 off in a very peaceful environment from which to achieve my goals. My upcoming projects include a concierge services for French tourists coming to New York and Miami and a partnership with investors in condos/ hotel in Florida, to sell them to European. Big thing are in the works for me.

I hope you started thinking and working on your goals too! It is not to late, but it is good to do it before the holidays otherwise you may be overwhelmed and won't have time to do it. Think of it like this: when you take a road trip to a destination you're not familiar with, you plan out the route ahead of time. Otherwise, you risk getting lost along the way. Same in your business you need a road map to plan how to get from A to Z.

If you don't know what you want to accomplish, how do you know when you get there?

So take a moment, seat in a quiet place, don't allow any distraction around you and make a list of everything you accomplished in 2008, what went right, what when wrong. Then make a list of what you want to accomplish in 2009 and how you can reach the next level.

What do Biba & Barack Obama have in common?

You were probably glued to your TV or experiencing the results of the election in the street on Tuesday night. Whichever way you voted, Obama or Mc Cain; if you're happy or disappointed, everybody can agree that it was a very important moment for the US: We made history. I say "we" because living in the US for more than 6 years, it became my country and I often relate more to US than France.

I have one common point with Barack Obama, I am "metisse" as we say in France – my mother is white, my father is black– even if it is more obvious when you see him than when you see me. My father's family is from Guadeloupe in the French Caribbean. I know what this moment represent for every black person, not only in the US but in the world.

The more important time is to come: Obama will have lot of work to do to change the current situation.

For the last two months beside the election campaign, everyone's mind is on the recession, but I have to say that I am very lucky. For some reason since last summer, I have acquired the most new clients since I started 5 years ago. Why? Because I work on a very specific niche.

As I say to all of my clients never try to sell to everybody, determine your niche as soon as you start your business, or refocus your business to make sure you will work only in a very specific niche, and it will become much easier to find clients.

The new president has only about 70 days to work on his new government, and goals, before he moves to the White House. You should also use the end is the year to work on your goals, see how you can refocus your business to determine a very specific niche, work on your marketing plan.

I'm not a fan of costumes, but this year I will be celebrating. I'm planning a dinner with friends at the Gulfstream Casino near my house, where we'll listen to great crooner music by Sinatra, Martin, Nat King Cole and the like. I may not be having atraditional Halloween, but it should be cool. Have a good time with your family and friends.

Dream Big Even During The Recession

This week I attended the 1st Annual UPTOWN Escape, organized by the UPTOWN Magazine to launch their local version in Miami.

I got the chance to join their "Building Wealth Luncheon" with guest speaker Kelvin Boston, financial journalist and best selling author who the New York Times has referred to as an "out-spoken voice for economic empowerment". Kelvin Boston is the executive producer and host of the Moneywise with the Kelvin Boston PBS series. He is also the president of Boston Media, Inc, and author of Who’s Afraid to Be A Millionaire?

I was meeting him for the first time, and really enjoyed what he had to say. Almost all TV and radio are very negative about the economy, ok yes it is true that we are facing a recession right now, but it doesn’t mean that everybody needs to freak out. Financial professionals and investors know that recession it usually the best time to get the best deals. I am actually in the process of acquiring my second condo - less than 12 months after the 1st one in Miami - and most people tell me it is not the good time. But Kelvin reinforced my decision and boosted my motivation. He also mentioned that we never had so many millionaires and billionaires than in the last few years, and by the end of the recession, the number will be even greater. So don’t let the media and other people stress you. Just shoot for your goals, THE BIGGER THE BETTER, and thinks will happen, no doubt about it.

Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

How to Determine Your Niche?

After a week in NYC I thought I will realize how much I miss it, but after the busy week and realizing how everybody is in a rush all the time, in the streets, in the subway, having meetings back to back, running to networking events every evening, I was actually very happy to come home. Home is now Miami, no doubt about it! I definitely have a much more quality of life; even when I went back to my routine: consulting and coaching all day and spending my weekend between my jogging and the pool. Here I can take time to relax even if I work a lot.

This week, I spoke with a couple of my friends and both were surprised so see my results with my weekend seminar in NYC; not that they doubt of my professionalism. One of my friends was very surprised that it took me only 2 months to put this seminar together, promote it and to get ten people to come from France for this weekend, all ready to pay $700 plus their airline ticket plus hotel which is a minimum budget of $2500 to $3000 for 4 days. Usually for that kind of budget you need to promote the event 3 to 6 months in advance. My other friend was awed because I made a 60% profit for this first weekend seminar, when usually people just break even and make mistakes along the way.
I didn't really realize the extent of the results until they pointed out to me, even though I knew it was a success. The reason is that as long as your target market is a very specific niche, it is much easier to reach your clients, which is my case with my French Consulting, plus since no one is in the same market, I don't have competitor. Recently a big law firm in New York sent me a client because they couldn't do anything for him, but they heard of my services and my results and were so impressed by the packages that I offer, that they recommend their client to contact me.
